‘BWRT®’ stands for ‘Brain Working Recursive Technique® a method of working with personal issues created by UK professional practitioner, Terence Watts, ( a therapist, teacher, and writer with a long history of creating innovative therapeutic intervention). It is a totally confidential method that does not require you to reveal your private information or personal secrets to your therapist and it is carried out in a completely conscious state. There are many different styles of therapy available these days but there is nothing else like this one. It’s totally safe and resolves even the apparently impossible – and many therapists are able to work with certain issues by Skype or telephone.Sometimes, shyness or embarrassment can prevent an individual from improving their life because they just can’t contemplate the idea of a face-to-face session with a therapist… But now that fear can be consigned to the past. BWRT is not like anything else. It is unique and inspired by the noble prize winner Benjamin Libet in 1983, that proved that we do not have a free will the way we think of it, which is precisely why we all encounter so many ‘’Why on earth did I do/say that’’? Or ‘’Why do I have to feel like this’’?Libet’s experiment showed that there is a measurable wait (more than 1/3 second!) between the moment the brain commences to act upon any stimulus and WE becoming aware of that action- in other words, by the time we know what we are doing, we are already doing it and it’s old news as far as the physical brain is concerned. Even the decision to change your mind about what you are doing is made before conscious awareness of that decision. BWRT allows us the opportunity to work in that interval between the commencement of an action and conscious awareness: this allows us to negate destructive thought patterns so completely as if they were never there.After a session, the client can no longer feel any negative response to the usual trigger for their presenting symptom, no matter how hard they try.The therapy is largely content-free, using the client’s own thought process to effect a release from the symptomatic patterns and using a strict protocol maximizes effectiveness and complete safety.
